SalvoConnect Housing & Homelessness

SalvoConnect Housing coordinates the emergency, transitional and short-term accommodation for adults and families in the Barwon South-Western Region.


Services provided include: 

  • SalvoConnect Motel 
  • SalvoConnect Tenancy: Located in suburbs of Geelong, Warrnambool, Colac, Camperdown, Terang, Heywood, Portland, Apollo Bay and Hamilton. 
  • Prison Support 
  • Homeless Males Networker

SalvoConnect Motel: offers 14 crisis accommodation units, providing a 3 to 5 week stay for single people or a 6 to 8 week stay for families.  Support is provided during this time for individuals and families to find accommodation and link into other appropriate support services.  

SalvoConnect Housing Services: are located within the Geelong community and provide for single men and men with children:   

  • The first point of call for people or families over 25, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • Crisis Accommodation 
  • Rooming House - 5 rooms; eligibility Single Men; length of stay 13 nights
  • Colac Units – 3 units; eligibility single men, women or couples with or without children, length of stay 2 units 13 nights, 1 unit 13 weeks
  • Geelong Units – 3 units; eligibility single men with or without children; length of stay 13 weeks
  • Transitional Accommodation – 17 properties; eligibility single men and men with children; length of stay 3 - 12 months
  • Interim Response – level 2 meets clients and offers support  
  • Case Management Support

In 2012/2013, 147 people were assisted through the crisis and THM properties which the Support Service manages.

SalvoConnect Colac: operates the Adult Entry Point and supports services for crisis accommodation

Salvo Connect Tenancy Team: manage crisis and transitional properties (Owned by the Office of Housing) and a team of nine manage the properties across the region.
